October 24, 2023

 

Our Toastmaster was Robert, with the theme Figures of Speech

Our Sergeant at Arms Barb called our meeting to order.

Our President, Nancy (Pro Tem), opened our meeting.

Education Minute (Nancy): In a polite or formal setting, it's customary to place others' names before one's own in a sentence, illustrated by examples like "Jean and I went to the park."

Our Gate Team was:

Grammarian –  Barb

The word of the day was Serendipity

Ah Counter – Sonal

Timer – Lynne

General Evaluator – Mara

Our speaker was Maria, who gave the speech "On the One Hand", a motivational strategy, level 1, S2: purpose speech.

Our Evaluators were Robert and Lynne

Our Table Topics Master was Nancy.

Our Table Topic Speakers were Sharon, Mara, Rahul, Justin, Sonal, and Lynne.

 Our Toastmaster was Maria with the theme Pasta

 Our Sergeant at Arms Barb called our meeting to order.

 Our President Victor opened our meeting.

 Education Minute: Check out a storytelling workshop hosted by our District 2, Saturday Nov 4 9:30 to Noon on zoom. https://d2tm.org/event/mine-your-magnetic-message/   

 Our Gate Team was:

 Our Speakers were Victor with “A Call to Cherish: Time, Moments, and Family” and Sonal with “Embracing Challenges: A Swim Through Determination and Support”.

 Our Evaluators were Robert and Lynne

 Our Table Topics Master was Amy with “And Then…” continuous story about little Timmy making butternut squash pasta.

 Our Table Topic Speakers were Marcus, Bill, Barb, Nancy, Victor, Robert.

Officers Meeting Minutes

October 10, 2023

 

Summary Officer Reports:

 

• Vice President of Education (VPE):
• Nancy has been actively connecting with members, providing updates on their current pathway progress, and offering assistance as necessary.
• Treasurer:
• No significant updates to report at this time.
• Vice President of Public Relations (VPPR):
• VPPR has been diligently working on uploading speeches and evaluations to our YouTube channel.
• A new draft header has been created for our materials.
• The possibility of establishing a LinkedIn profile for our club, mirroring our existing presence on Facebook, was discussed to assess interest and engagement.
• Vice President of Membership (VPM):
• Currently, our club boasts 23 paid members.
• Regrettably, 6 members chose not to renew their memberships due to scheduling conflicts.
• President:
• The President has been in communication with the Area Director to address the following inquiries:
• Have we utilized the "Moments of Truth" program within our club?
• Has the officer corps explored the strategic planning module?

Miscellaneous Discussions:

o    The officers engaged in discussions regarding a Harvest party scheduled for our in-person meeting in November.

o    There is consideration for adding additional in-person and Zoom meetings to our schedule.

§  Further details on the potential hybrid meeting format will be discussed with Robert Katz, who has experience attending such meetings.

Our Toastmaster was Nancy with the theme Gobsmacked and other British Expressions.  

 Our Sergeant at Arms Pro Tem and Zoom Host Nancy called our meeting to order.

Our President Victor opened our meeting.

 Our Education Minute: Writing your Introduction - Your speaking introduction is a script used by the toastmaster to introduce you and the parameters of your speech. Please make it a conversational format. Find the speech introduction template on Member Downloads on our website and attached.

 Our Gate Team was:

Word of the day was - Dumbfounded.

Our Speaker was Deanna with, Do you remember when?

Our Speech Evaluator was a Round Robin which included Maria, Sharon, and Nancy.

Our Table Topics Master was Victor with TOPICS THEME

 Our Table Topic Speakers were everyone in attendance except Table Topics Master.  

 Our Humorist was Robert.
