Meeting Minutes - January 19, 2021
Announcement: Kameh is officially our new member! Yay! Welcome!
Also, we would like to say Happy Birthday to Nancy!
Our Sergeant at Arms, Lynne, promptly opened the meeting on time with our mission statement and flag salute
Our President, Barb, welcomed our guests and introduced the Toastmaster. Our guest today was Hannah.
Our Toastmaster was Nancy with the theme “Your Gift”
Our GATE Team was:

General Evaluator - Jean
Our only Speaker today was Giri with his speech titled “Stop Hiding Your Light - Let Your Brilliance be a Blessing”. He’s working on his Motivational Strategies Path, Inspire Your Audience (8-10 mins)
Our Evaluator was Jim (evaluating Giri)
Our Table Topic Master was Mara. She was great at sticking to the theme and explaining how we’re going to do a virtual white elephant. Before Mara gave us gifts, she gifted Nancy with a beautiful blue hydrangea bouquet for her birthday.
Our Table Topic Speakers were:
Midori, was given 2 plane tickets to fly anywhere, where would she go and who would she take? She would go back and visit her hometown Japan and would take her son because he has shown interest and her husband needs to stay home and watch the dog.
Lynn, was given a basket of snacks with a bunch of goodies, what else is in this basket? There were crackers, cheese, guacamole, and a gallon of ice cream in this basket because she loves snacking on these snacks and eating ice cream while watching TV at the end of the day
Kameh, was given a $100 gift card to a local restaurant, where and what would she eat? She loves Chinese food and would eat dim-sum, even chicken feet dim sum.
Kate, was given a handmade netted scarf, hat, and mittens. Kate appreciated handmade gifts more than anything. She loved her gift.
Hannah, was given a choice to pick either a yoga mat, water bottle, protein powder, and some more items, which would she pick and why? She would pick the Vegan protein powder because it’s expensive to buy. She would get a free month out of it.
Lynne, was given a box of puzzles, how many pieces and what picture would it be? She loves a busy puzzle so her puzzle would be 2500 pieces and the picture would be colorful hot air balloons
Robert, was given a crisp $100 bill, what would he buy? He would buy a talking Rodney Dangerfield doll.
Jim, being it’s a white-elephant gift-giving table topic, Jim can steal one of the gifts given or take a new one. What would he like to do? Jim ended up stealing Robert’s gift of the Romedy Dangerfield doll that talks. He used to have one and he donated it a long time ago. After hearing about it from Robert, he would like to get the doll back.
