Meeting Minutes - April 6, 2021

 Public Speaking Northwest Toastmasters

Meeting Minutes - April 6, 2021

Announcement: Today is our Open House day. Thanks, Midori for inviting Kyoko to visit our club to see what we’re all about and see how warm, friendly, and supportive we all are.

PLEASE continue to spread the word and invite your friends and family to visit/join our club. Joining Toastmasters can really benefit you in a lot of ways (if anything, you’ll make great friends)

Our Sergeant at Arms, Lynne, promptly opened the meeting on time with our mission statement, flag salute, and reminded members and guests that the speech and evaluation part of our meeting are recorded.

Our President Barb introduced the VP Education Nancy to review roles for the next meeting and introduced the Toastmaster.

Our Toastmaster was Mara and today is our OPEN HOUSE.

Our GATE Team was:

Grammarian - Kate, and Mara (backed up Glenn)

Word of the day - Esteem

Ah Counter -  Kate

Timer - Warren

General Evaluator - Jean

Today for our Open House we have a special guest speaker Todd, with his speech entitled “How To Craft A Speech” (25 mins)

No Evaluators today.

Our Table Topic Master was Nancy.

Our Table Topic Speakers were:

Robert, what was your takeaway from Todd’s “How To Craft A Speech”? Robert likes to craft a speech that involves keeping all the senses up front to keep the audience's attention like auditory and visual.

JinXin, what words of yours would you like your son to carry? To be kind.

Midori, are you good at thinking before you speak? She doesn’t think so because she thinks too much. There are too many thoughts in her head that it’s hard to get the words out. She doesn’t know what to say sometimes and her mind goes blank.  She appreciates the club’s patience with her.

Members in Attendance were Giri, Lynn, Nancy, Kate, Jim, Lynne, Jean, Warren, Barb, Midori, Kristin, Kameh, Robert, JinXin, Mara

Guest(s) in Attendance: Todd Cudaback (main speaker), Kyoko Zimet (new)

Motion to Adjourn,
