Club Officer’s Meeting

January 2, 2018

Our president pro tem, Janell, called the meeting to order.

Also in attendance were Nancy, Jean, Julie, Lynne, Julia, Uliana.

1.     Julia had stepped in to the role of sergeant at arms, gave us the details about her capabilities within the role.

2.     Jean reported she sent an email about scheduling officers training. She also gave us the report about speaking progress in our club, our club’s speaking goals, and achievements. Plans for future special meetings – awards party will be deferred to February.

3.     Janell was looking for a deputy, since Giri was not seen for long time at the meetings. Lynne had volunteered to be the deputy.

4.     Nancy reported how she advertised our club in several media platforms, also proposed to format better our Facebook page. Other proposition was to put links to our FB page to the minutes email. Propositions were accepted.

5.     Uliana raised the concern with the new minutes’ format taking a lot more efforts comparing to its yielding benefits. Decided to try it for a month and see.

6.      Julia raised a question about not giving out “the best speaker” award, the proposition was not supported.

The meeting was stopped because of time constrains.

Meeting Minutes

December 19, 2017

Our Toastmaster was Lynne with the theme Songs of the Season.

Our President, Janell, opened our meeting.

Our Gate Team was:

Grammarian – Nancy

Ah Counter – Hilary

Timer – Julia

General Evaluator - Barbara

Our Speakers were Uliana with “Hi Bill!” (Best Speaker), and Randy with “The radio talk show”.

Our Evaluators were Janell (Best Evaluator), and Robert.

Our Table Topics Master was Randy, volunteered on the spot, lead the segment with a spark!

Our Table Topic Speakers were Jerry, Mercedes (best TT), Becky, Julie, Robert (Best TT). Yes, we had a tie, and as a result – 2 best TT speakers!

Announcements and Awards:

We signed holiday cards for the folks at ISOutsource, and also a card for Mercedes with the best wishes for her and her new baby!

Members in Attendance were Julie, Emery, Mercedes and her son Leonardo, Barb, Robert, Jerry, Hillary, Julia, Uliana, Randy, Janell, Nancy, Lynne, Thenseena.

Meeting Minutes

December 5, 2017

Our Toastmaster was Randy and his theme was Patience.

Our President Janell opened our meeting.

Our Gate Team was:

Grammarian - Barb with the word Patience.

Ah Counter - Jane.

General Evaluator - Nancy

Our Speakers were Cara (Best Speaker) with her Ice Breaker, “Embrace Your Voice” and Dan with “The Top 5 Fitness Myths You’ve Been Told”

Our Evaluators were Jerry and Hilary (Best Evaluator). Both of them stepped into their roles last minute and did a splendid job. It was Jerry’s very first time as evaluator.

Our Table Topics Master was Jim with great questions.

Our Table Topic Speakers were Jim, Deoshree, Lynne, Randy, Robert, Brianna, Julia, Grace and Thenseena (Best Table Topics).

Announcements:

1.     We have many role openings for next week’s meeting.

2.     We had our mentor ceremony for our new member, Julia, and her new mentor, Hilary.

3.     We are collecting money for a baby gift for Mercedes. Should you choose to participate; a basket will be on the back table for your contribution.

4.     Remember to bring back your flash drives once you have downloaded the video of your speech.

5.     New members, please remember to bring in your duplicate copy of your Competent Leader and Competent Communicator manuals to replace the ones given to you in advance.
