 Our President Victor called our meeting to order.

 Our Sergeant at Arms Barb articulated the Club’s Mission and led the Flag Salute

What is my message? If you can’t reduce it to one sentence, you don’t understand it well enough to communicate it simply.

Don’t speak from a script.

Announcements:

1.    We officially welcomed Kerry to our club with our Protégé/Mentor/Club Member’s Pledge and Lynne is her mentor.

 

2.    Inspirational Speech Competition (February 13th)

Ø  All members are welcome to compete. We can take as many as 6 or 7 speakers.

Ø  Speeches are to be 5 to 7 minutes long to qualify.

Ø  Feedback comments will be given in the Zoom chat.

Ø  We will vote and a prize will be given to the winner.

Ø  Members who have completed 2 levels in Pathways are eligible to move on to the International Speech Competition starting with the Area contest.

Officer Meeting Minutes 01/09/2024

 Officer Meeting Report:

 January 9, 2024

  • Vice President of Education (VPE):
    • She informed us that we are at the Distinguished level. We will receive more points with educational achievements, more members, and when we receive our officer training.
    • Our club’s calendar and goals were shared.
    • Discussed about February 13th Inspirational Speech Day instead of the White Elephant Party. Additional information will be sent.
  • Treasurer:

o     Payment for Woodcrest Estates meeting room (January – April 2024) made. Check #105 - $140.00. The current room rent rate is $35/meeting.

o    Member Kelly Fallucca reimbursed for Maono Microphone and Sensyne Tripod – gifted to members. Check #106 - $56.28

o    New member payments have been being received via PayPal or check by PSNW & then the TI portion paid online via PSNW bank account debit card. All going well – no hitches. There is a service fee paid to PayPal for each transaction received.

o    She will follow up with the establishment of a Concur account which is required to use the Incentive dollars our Club has earned. I received and filled out the application last December (came via District 2). I have not received confirmation of the Concur account as of Jan 2024. I tried following up with a different contact email to District 2 today.

o    The PSNW bank account balance is $1360.15 as of 1/9/24.

  • Vice President of Public Relations (VPPR):
    • VPPR has been diligently working on uploading speeches and evaluations to our YouTube channel with the 2024 PR Theme: Sparkle and Shine.
    •  2024 officer photos were uploaded.
    • Updated ‘About us’ PDF on the website
    • The 2024 Welcome Message Video of the President was uploaded.
    • VPPR proposed to order the Toastmaster pins from TI and give them to a new member after their first Ice Breaker Speech. This proposal was approved by all the members.
    • Proposed change in meeting opening format. Start the meeting with the President welcoming guests and all members approve this format.
  • Vice President of Membership (VPM):
    • Currently, our club boasts 27 paid members.
    • Proposed to send a Thank you note to the Woodcrest Estates Board expressing our appreciation for using their meeting room.
  • President:
    •  Thank you letter to Woodcrest Estates Board

Rewrite Your Reality: Set the Stage for Success
1. Sit down with a piece of paper and a pen. To fully engage your brain, this must be written by hand.
2. Think about the event for which you want success.
3. Write out every step of the event as you wish it would be, but write it as though it has already happened.  Include positive emotions and interactions.
4. Then read it.
