Officers meeting minutes, May 1, 2018

Present: Randy, Nancy, Julia, Lynne, Hillary, Uliana, Giri, Mara.

Acronims: PW – PathWays.

For mentors its useful to get familiar with PW, take assessment, get a feel, so if new people will join PW – mentors could help navigate, even if mentor himself is not on PW.

New officer’s nominations – everyone except our president was able to renew their terms. For president Lynne suggested to ask Mara. Everybody agreed. Randy will ask Mara today.

Club party. Flyer needs to be produced, Nancy can help, we need a volunteer for a flyer. Lynne volunteered to help with decorations.

Nancy discovered that in PW you need to have a printer to print evaluation forms. As a solution, it could be delegated to a toastmaster, or an evaluator to print, but we decided it’s up to the speaker to bring a paper. Evaluation online in PW is for the speaker to fill out, not for evaluator.

Giri reported that new members find our group mostly via Meetup. We have often new people sign up after they come in.

Hillary showed us the sample of filled out application she put into the file of applications. Email address is important to fill out correct and legible.

Nancy advertized our Bday party in Star Burst, Meetup, FB. Area directors are invited. Nancy will go to UW in the fall. Mara said she has kids in UW, and they have a club day in UW, so we could piggyback on it.

Hillary raised a problem that with PW we can’t give new members their books anymore. So Nancy offered to create a welcome flyer where it says – welcome, here’s what you do next, and that’s who you contact. Giri, Nancy, Hillary will discuss the flyer.

We still have money in the club, the report is on the board.
