Meeting Minutes

June 20, 2017

Our Toastmaster was Jack (first time ever as toastmaster) with the theme Be Yourself.

Our President pro tem, Jean, opened our meeting.

Our Gate Team was:

Grammarian – Tobias stepped in last minute with the impromptu word “Freestyle”. He posted with the word and definition. It said “Freestyle – Watch Jack”

Ah Counter – Dan

Timer – Anju stepped in last minute

General Evaluator - Jim

Our Speakers were Amritha, speaking before the meeting, with Mastering the Art of the Impromptu, Jung (Best Speaker) with The Kingpin, Warren with Don’t Let the Lawyers Run the Store, and Grace with The Secret Life of the Grown-up Brain. After the meeting Dan’s speech was “The Power of Social Media”.

Our Evaluators were Julie, Lynne and Jean (Best Evaluator).

Our Table Topics Master was Janell with Character Traits.

Our Table Topic Speakers were Nancy (Best Speaker), Uliana, and Tobias.

Our Humorist was absent.

Announcements:

1.    We will be bumped from our room on 6/27, next Tuesday, so we will meet there at the regular time on Wednesday 6/28.

2.    We still need a secretary for the upcoming election.

3.    Janell will be our president. Jean will stay on as VP of education. Mercedes will be VP of PR. Hadaya will be VP of membership. Hilary will be treasurer. Lynne will remain sergeant at arms.

4.    Thank you to Robert for the videos of our speeches, which he produces.

5.    Kathy just completed and submitted her CL.

Members in Attendance were Jim, Jack, Jean, Hilary, Lynne, Steve, Warren, Anju, Julie H, Amritha, Julie N, Grace, Robert, Janell, Kathy, Jung, Tobias, Uliana, and Dan.

There were no guests in attendance.
