Public Speaking Northwest Toastmasters
Meeting Minutes
07/26/2022
Announcements:
Our next meeting will be in person at McMenamins in Bothell. See our website for specific directions to the meeting room.
Our Learning Minute:
Impromptu Speaking: Listening
Don’t interject your own ideas before the other person has finished. Focus on what is being said.
Listen Carefully: Your reply will reflect your attention.
People are more likely to respect and listen to your ideas when you listen to them
You’ll improve your chances of commenting directly on what you heard so you can give on-target responses.
Listening gives you the tools to tactfully disagree with the person you are speaking with.
