III. Old Business Since we still need to have a proxy for the August 22 Toastmasters International meeting the officer's discussed possibilities. It was felt that at our club level, we didn’t feel qualified enough to choose officers for International. It was moved and 2nd that we designate the District 2 Director, Anu Jokinen as our proxy. Theresa will do this by 8/15/202.
IV. New Business
Club Speaking Competition Speech A Thon. Last year, since we didn’t have a club level competition, it was suggested that we kick start PSNW club competition. Rather than calling it a competition we will call it a Speech A Thon, to make it less intimidating. We will try and drive participation in a fun and less threatening way. The “winning” Speech A Thon competitor from our club, will move on to the Area Competition. The Area Competition will be held during the month of February 2026. Since speeches are in person, we will hold our Speech A Thon Dec 2,2025 at our in-person meeting. Hopefully, being between the big holidays, we can promote and drive participation. The speech subjects are broad and can be a pathways level or not. The main theme, however, is to do an inspirational speech

Future Learning Minute Suggestion: Warren recently participated in
a
panel project at his other club, Willow
Voices, where I was a panelist. I
encourage
our members to visit the TLI site and use the “Find a
Club”
feature to locate other clubs in their
area. Consider offering to give a guest
speech—it’s
an excellent way to level up your speaking skills by
receiving
feedback from different evaluators
and audiences.
