Public Speaking Northwest Toastmasters
Meeting Minutes - May 18, 2021
Announcements: No announcements. Barb shared how impressed she was by the winning speaker at this year's District 2 Toastmasters' Speech Contest.
Our Sergeant at Arms, Lynne, promptly opened the meeting on time with our mission statement, flag salute, and reminded members and guests that the speech and evaluation part of our meeting are recorded.
Our President Barb opened the meeting and introduced the Toastmaster. In Nancy's absence, Lynne reviewed roles for the next meeting.
Our Toastmaster was Kate. Our theme was "How Does Your Garden Grow". Kate shared interesting facts and tidbits about plants and gardening.
Our GATE Team was:
Grammarian - Kristin
Word of the day - perennial
Ah Counter - Jim
Timer - Midori
General Evaluator - Jean
Our first speaker was Hannah. Her speech was entitled, "Edible Plants!". She is working on the Presentation Mastery Pathway; Level 1. Speaking time: 5-7 minutes
Our second speaker, Nancy, was unable to attend due to internet connection issues.
Our Evaluators were Robert (evaluating Hannah) and Barb (evaluating Nancy)
Our Table Topic Master was Mara.
Our Table Topic Speakers were:
Lynne, Barb, Hannah, Kristin, Jim, Midori, Julie, Robert, Jean, and Kate. Speakers shared about their gardens, here and in Japan, lawns, love of lilacs, lack of green thumbs, and roses.
Our Evaluator was Robert (evaluating Hannah's speech).
